Re: Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association attendance at the London Clarets Annual General Meeting
Dear London Clarets Committee,
Just a short note to thank you for the hospitality you gave us at your Annual General Meeting last Saturday, and for the endless messages of support from your members. We were delighted to have been given the opportunity to address your membership, and sincerely hope that we offered an informative insight into the murder of Wimbledon Football Club and the dangers of football franchising. The passing of the WISA motion regarding a boycott of Burnley FC's away game at Selhurst Park / Milton Keynes was a welcome boost to our campaign, and on a personal level it reiterated that our efforts were not in vain.
We were most impressed with your setup, and your members are a credit to your organisation and Burnley Football Club. Football supporters are uniting behind Wimbledon supporters, and I can safely state that Burnley supporters are at the forefront, with both your organisation and the Clarets Independent Supporters Association passing the motion to boycott the away fixture. Furthermore, CISA have passed a motion to hold a protest against football franchising at Turf Moor when Wimbledon Football Club Ltd visit, and WISA would like to formally invite the London Clarets to play an active part in proceedings, if your committee / membership deem it appropriate.
The speech by Mr Barry Kilby fully illustrated that a Chairman with his drive, determination, and willingness to work with supporters is the only way that a community based football club can prosper. Whilst the ITV Digital saga may have a detrimental short term effect on the successes of Burnley Football Club, I am confident that Burnley FC will continue to prosper under the firm foundations that have been developed over the last few years.
We will keep you informed of all events regarding our campaign against Wimbledon Football Club Ltd, and the progress of AFC Wimbledon.
Thank you once again.
Best wishes,
Simon Wheeler
