24 November 1998 was a historic day for Burnley
Football Club. It was the day that Burnley’s changed regime, led by new Chairman
Barry Kilby, finally acknowledged that it might be in the club’s best interest to
listen to supporters. The first meeting between members of the Board and representatives
of official Supporters Groups was held that day. There were two subsequent meetings, and
following a gap, there have been further meetings held in a changed format.
Despite the fact that these meetings tend to be
held in Burnley on weekdays, so far we've managed to have a representative attend each
one.
Since we try to be a genuinely democratically
club, we seek to put forward the views of our membership at the meetings. If there is a
question you would like us to ask on your behalf, or an issue you would us like to raise,
please contact us and we
will try to put it to the club. After years of strife, we now have this valuable channel
of communication with those who make decisions at the club. Let's use it!
Last meeting - January 2003
The last meeting was on Wednesday 15th January, and the London Clarets were represented by Steve Corrigan. Thanks to everyone who emailed Steve prior to the meeting with feedback on current issues of concern.
