Wolverhampton Wanderers - an apology

Burnley FC today issued a statement of apology to Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. We reproduce this below:

"We are sorry for somehow allowing Norwich to get into the play-offs. To be honest, we still don’t quite know how we managed to cock-up the end of our season to such an extent that we didn’t make the play-offs. We’re still baffled as to how Norwich finished above us. Unfortunately, this of course meant that Wolves had to play Norwich in the play-offs instead of our good selves. Therefore, in the place of the usual victory you can expect at our expense, you had to face defeat at the hands of Norwich.

We really are very sorry about this. We can only offer our condolences at the collapse of your season, which makes even our failure on the last lap look good. Still, look on the bright side, Wolves. You are at least guaranteed six points off us again next season. Hope this helps."
