If you're interested in football, you're probably aware that Bury FC are on the brink of extinction. Forty years after Accrington Stanley and ten years on from Aldershot and Maidstone, this must not be allowed to happen again.
Bury FC are appealing to all football supporters to help them in their hour of need. It could so easily be someone else's club. It could be yours, or, without the right Chairman coming along at the right time, ours.
One of the innovative methods Bury have come up with for people to support them is the 'Buy a Seat' campaign. For just £10 you can buy a seat at Gigg Lane and do your bit to help keep the club alive. They'll even put your name on the seat to show that you paid for it, and played your part.
There's not really any need to say much more, particularly when you can get all the
background from the official Bury FC website at www.buryfc.co.uk. You can now buy your seat on line with your credit card (why not use your Burnley credit card so the Clarets gain a little too?). Click here to find out how to do that.
Needless to say this site supports any initiatives to keep League clubs in existence and so maintain the integrity of the English game.
There are lots of connections between Burnley and Bury - not least of the current staff Stan Ternent and Sam Ellis, and Gordon Armstrong and Dean West. Just think - if Bury had folded ten years ago like Aldershot did, where would we have got Uncle Stan from? So if you can afford it, please do think about supporting this cause.
We wish Bury FC well in their struggle.
