Fans United Day
Sunday 16 December, Selhurst Park
Wimbledon v Nottingham Forest

Along with a number of other websites, we received the following correspondence about Wimbledon FC. We are happy to pass this on to our readers. Perhaps some of our members would like to get their Burnley shirts on and go to this?

"Dear Friend

I need your help. As I'm sure you know, the owners of Wimbledon Football Club still seem hell-bent on moving the club up to Milton Keynes.

The fact is, the supporters certainly don't want it, the players don't want it (although they have to keep 'schtum', who wants to live in Milton Keynes?), and the consortium behind the move in MK have repeatedly been unable to find any citizens who will speak out about wanting the club! Even the residents of Milton Keynes are indifferent!

There are only three people who want this:the men who have highjacked our club!

This is not just about us. The ramifications of American style franchising are frightening. Can you see Man Utd in Essex? And who will move to the wealthy and top-flight starved West Country? I'd be lying if I said I'm not doing this to save my club, but it is the very heritage and tradition of the game that is at stake here.

In opposition to this move, and the concept of clubs moving in general, the Wimbledon Supporters are arranging the second 'Fans United Day'. Just as Brighton did a few years ago to save their skin, we are inviting all football supporters (in colours) to join us at the Wimbledon v Nottingham Forest match on Sunday the 16th of December at Selhurst Park. Fans will gather at the Thomas Farley pub before the match. Could you please spread the news?

If you drop by, I will be in your debt. Pre-booked tickets in the Holmsdale End are only £12. Don't worry, there will be plenty of room.

Cheers, thanks for taking the time to read this, and hope to see you.
