Forever and Ever
A Rock 'n' Roll Years Diary of Burnley
Football Club
This new book, produced by a
member of the London Clarets, is now on sale at Burnley FCs club shop.
Author Tim Quelch
says:
"The book traces the clubs fortunes
from their League Championship in May 1960 to their triumph at Scunthorpe, forty years
later. The book is essentially a London Clarets account, laced with many quotes from
past and present managers and players. Over forty supporters have contributed their views,
articles and match reports to this collaborative effort. These have originally appeared in
various issues of the bi-monthly London Clarets magazine, Nothing To Write Home
About.
"Ive tried to put this modern history
of a once mighty, but always great, club in the context of other things, which have
cluttered up the last forty years: current affairs, trends and, in particular, popular
music. I hope this helps bring back something of what it has felt like to be alive during
the rock n roll years.
"The book has been written in order to
raise income for Burnley FC (all proceeds will go to the club) and to swell the membership
of the London Clarets (Burnley FC London Supporters Club). It also seemed a fitting way to
celebrate the London Clarets' twenty-fifth anniversary, which falls in early 2001.
However, without the enthusiastic support of Burnley FC Chairman, Barry Kilby, it is
probable that the project would not have been completed. Thanks are also due to Burnley FC
staff for assistance with the production."
