The Metropolitan Police and Millwall football club are totally incorrect in banning Burnley fans from visiting the New Den. The only trouble ever caused there is by the followers of Millwall.
It is also totally senseless to ban Burnley completely but to only make Palace's game all ticket. My guess is that this isn't because there is more trouble caused by Clarets than by Palace but that the banning of CPFC would be difficult to police
I publicly challenge both the directors of Millwall and the head of the Metropolitan Police to publish how many followers of Burnley were convicted of offences at every game we have played at the New Den, and then to justify the ban based on these figures.
If any club should be banned it should be Millwall - once again the innocent are made to suffer, probably due to a decision made by a committee
The only thugs that continually grace the away end at Millwall are the stewards. The archives of the London Clarets magazine are testament to such a fact.
I think that liaison should have been made with all clubs who visit Millwall, not just Millwall themselves. They have had a problem for decades and now they are to be trusted to put it right? I think not. The police and the football authorities have again let the average football fan down badly. We are supposed to be a 'league of clubs' and such decisions should involve consultation with the league.
If Millwall cannot fulfil the criteria of having seats available on all four sides of their ground including some for 'visitors' then they shouldn't be allowed in the league.
I hope Millwall are banned from the FA cup for failing to able to provide the required percentage of tickets to any team that they may draw in the cup.
