Player of the year 2000-2001
May update

By the time you read this our fate will no doubt have been decided and the Player of the Year positions will have been finalised.

As I write though, there are still two games to play (at least) at Bramall Lane and at home to Watford.

The position as at 26 April is:

Ian Cox 359

Glen Little 306
Steve Davis 296
Paul Weller 271
Mitchell Thomas 184
Nik the Greek 154
Graham Branch 143
Kevin Ball 120
Ian Moore 90
Micky Mellon 61
Paul Crichton 48
Andy Cooke 38

Also scored votes:

Andy Payton 29, Lee Briscoe 28, Paul Smith 26, Gordon Armstrong, Lenny Johnrose 23, John Mullin, Gareth Taylor 21, Paul Cook 20, Brad Maylett 10, Dean West, the Victoria at Beeston (Forest away) 5, Phil Gray, the Man from Atlantis (Watford) 4, Ronnie Jepson, Duncan Goodhew (Watford), the man from Tiverton (Portsmouth) 3, Uncle Arthur (Rochdale), the Vat and Fiddle (Forest), the Cosy Teapot at breakfast (Forest), the non forker (Watford), King Neptune (Watford), Jacques Cousteau (Watford), Flipper (Watford), Heidi (Watford), Heidi’s Mum, the Masons Arms at Doncaster (Grimsby), the jukebox in the Royal Marines Artillery Arms (Portsmouth), John Pepper's Doc Martens (Portsmouth), the second chicken balti pie (Sheffield Wednesday) 2, Chris Brass, Mike E Benyon’s floppy hat, the streaker (Isle of Man), Eddie the Eagle (Palace), John Ward (Forest), Grandfather (Watford), Peter (Watford), Johnny Weismuller (Watford), Jaws II (Watford), Stingray (Watford), Esther Williams (Watford), Patrick’s girly umbrella (Watford), Timothy Taylor’s Landlord (Grimsby), the weather (Grimsby), the dog that shook itself all over the twins (Grimsby), the half time dancers (Sheffield Wednesday), the first chicken balti pie (Sheffield Wednesday) 1.

Ian Cox is still likely to be triumphant, but his lead is now under threat should either Glen Little or Steve Davis have scored heavily in the final two games.

The final outcome will be announced at the AGM and included in a future magazine.
