Burnley pub news, May 2002
The Waggoners Inn
Situated past the Summit on Manchester Road, it's changed hands for the first time in 17 years. A John Smiths pub which focuses heavily on food, it does serve real ale. This should continue.
The Town Mouse
Not a pub I get to a lot, but it has been advertising Old Speckled Hen at £1.50 a pint. Not my favourite beer, but at least it's available real ale.
The Ministry of Ale
Your new favourite pub is now brewing a mild. Dark Star at 3.4% ABV is the best produced so far. £1.40 a pint, which may be reduced in the wake of last month's budget!
