Woody: We played well in the first half, carrying over our form from Wednesday night. We lost our way in the second half - Coventry fought back after Blake was mysteriously substituted.
Dermot: After an excellent first half, and scoring two goals, we seemed in the second half to sit back and allow Coventry the opportunity to score. Which they did, only for us to come back strongly in the latter stages of the game, scoring another goal to make the game safe.
Patrick: I thought for the first half we looked in control. We scored a penalty, and a well-worked Tony Grant goal (yes, that was Tony Grant - it's not a misprint).
With Bastard Hignett being sent off, the second half promised more goals, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. As is Stan's wont, we sat back and invited pressure, and paid the price. For fifteen minutes, the game was up for grabs, until a flukey "goal" from Taylor settled matters, thank Christ.
Joan: More of the same, please! Loved Glen Little's magic short, sharp passes with Blake and Weller. Bring on United!
Barbara: Branch Man of the Match? Well done, Clarets. And it was wonderful to see a Bastard sent off at Turf Moor!
John: I'm always happy when we win! We played well. Steve Davis was solid at the back, especially without Cox. Poor Hignett, sent to Coventry. Hope he enjoyed the long walk!
Kieron: First half: fantastic. Second half: why?
Paul F: Overall, a good performance and result, which avoided the banana skin after the Lord Mayor's Show. Bring on Man U!
Firmo: We deserved to win today, although the scoreline was flattering. We played very well in the first half, but to no-one's surprise we slacked off in the second half. It was disappointing that Blake left the game so early. He had a good game whilst he was on, and we missed him.
Coventry will probably feel aggrieved about the referee, but to me he was not so much biased as bad, and made a lot of wrong decisions for both teams. They were always going to get a penalty, too. Impossible to tell if Hignett's sending off was justified, but then what was a Bastard doing on the pitch in the first place?
Today, I know there is nothing left to see or hear. We had a chant for Gareth Taylor. Di Branchio was man of the match (quite rightly too, in my view). I am proud of the Branch. If we had signed a new left back today, and he had played like that, we'd think we'd got a good 'un. But the strangest thing I've seen today was Tony Grant strolling through to score. At least it looked like Tony Grant, and had the number twelve on his back, but I would like to see a DNA test.
Simon (Coventry): We played all the football. No idea why Hignett was sent off, but it changed the game. I didn't think we were two goals worse.
Martin (Coventry): Much as I do not wish to denigrate Burnley's performance, I think the ref has a lot to answer for. If refs can't cope with swearing, they shouldn't be in the game.
Colin (Coventry): I felt we gave away a two-goal lead by slack defending, then the ref spoilt the rest of the game.
Ross (Coventry): A similar story to many recent Coventry games. A decent start, in which we didn't take our chances, and we were punished afterwards by poor defending and poor refereeing.
We'd like to thank our friends from Coventry's London Supporters' Club for contributing to our vox pop.
