No, "Electric Yetis" is nothing at all to do with odd-looking creatures roaming across inhospitable terrain - although on the other hand... It's actually a rather clever anagram of "Leicester City"!
Basically, the Electric Yetis is a charity football team, comprised entirely of Leicester City supporters. Their motto is "It's not just about winning. It's about taking part and building bridges between rival sets of supporters". With this in mind, and alongside Kick It Out's week of anti-racism in football (16 - 26 October 2002), Electric Yetis FC will be taking part in a friendly match against a team of Clarets fans prior to Leicester City v Burnley on Saturday.
The match will be held at Leicester City's Belvoir Drive Training Ground, and will kick off at 10.30am. Apparently Alastair Campbell will be attending. Now, as far as we know, Alastair won't actually be playing, but rumour has it that one or two London Clarets might be. Why not go along and give the teams your support?
If you would like further details, why not take a look at the Electric Yetis' excellent website? There's a wealth of information on there, including directions to Belvoir Drive.
Come on you Clarets!
